Trumpet

 

Someone from the Calgary Round-up Band asked me if I wanted to donate a cake to their annual fundraising auction.  I had to pick a musical instrument that would be found in the band.  This was a very hard decision for me, and even a harder cake to do, okay, well maybe just the trumpet.  What was I thinking!!

The flat cake was pretty straight forward, and I thought it would be a nice touch to put actual trumpet sheet music on top.  So I copied an easy version of 'Jingle Bells' off of the Internet and drew it on top with piped icing.  The hard pard was the trumpet.  I just used Fondant and went off of some pictures I found.  Considering the headaches I had over it, I think it turned out pretty good.
